Ruby Bridges

Ruby Bridges was born in Mississippi in 1954. She grew up during a time of extreme segregation but in 1960 she was selected to attend  an all white school as a means to end segregation. She was the only black person and that school which in turn cause quite a riot. Parents and others stood outside the school shouting things every morning and some parents even took their kids out of school. She prayed to God every morning and thanks to her neighbors, God, her family and especially Mrs.Henry she finished out high school at William Frantz Public School.
