Steve Jobs died on October 5th, 2011. He did of pancreatic cancer. Steve was the founder of apple. He created iphones, ipods, ipod touches, mac computers, and ipads.

Pay-by-race bake sale at UC Berkeley still on, student Republican group says

1. The topic is discrimination.
2. The angle is a bake sale focused on enforcing discrimination.
3. The story is unusual, human interest, and timeliness.
4. I would want to shoot the people that are hosting the bake sale and then the people that are ultimately against the bake sale. I think it would be really good to show the two opposing sides.

The Boys of Winter

1. His stand up was in the middle when he was sitting on the bleachers.
2. The stand up should be in the middle because it gives the viewer information you can't visualize.

4.  I'm guessing the key points are when Bakewell kisses a fan, when he says hello to a woman at the top of the stairs, and when he starts jumping rope.

Apple Valley man accused of stealing Freon to get high

Brentyn E. Krueger is now in jail after stealing 1,800 dollars worth of freon. The man was stealing the freon from outside air conditioners and using it to get high. The effects of freon make you feel incredibly drunk. Freon is extremely dangerous and has even killed a 21 year old in Mankato.

I think that its just sad how people get so addicted to stupid things that they let it ruin their lives.

For Love or Real Estate: The Cost of Getting Divorced in China

In China they have made a new law that states that when a couple gets divorced any property that was bought before marriage will only belong to the person who's name is on it. This new law also states that real estate as a gift from one of the spouses parents will belong to that spouse only. This law has made a huge impact on people decisions to get married in China and its also made people think twice about getting a divorce.

Ruby Bridges

Ruby Bridges was born in Mississippi in 1954. She grew up during a time of extreme segregation but in 1960 she was selected to attend  an all white school as a means to end segregation. She was the only black person and that school which in turn cause quite a riot. Parents and others stood outside the school shouting things every morning and some parents even took their kids out of school. She prayed to God every morning and thanks to her neighbors, God, her family and especially Mrs.Henry she finished out high school at William Frantz Public School.

Arizona bee attack kills 1,000-pound hog

I think its completely surprising how bees can so easily kill a 1,000 pound hog. In the report it said that the owners of the farm were trying to move a 200 pound bees nest when the bees started stinging everyone. It stung one of the workers over a thousand who is now in the hospital. It also stung a pregnant stow so many times that she went into a coma and eventually lost her litter. I just can't believe how something like this could happen but I guess it does.

Jonesboro Shooting

Two boys 13 year old Mitchell Johnson and 11 year old Andrew Golden made a plan to open fire on everyone in the school. One morning Andrew pulled the fire alarm while Mitchell went outside to their van filled with weapons. When everyone was outside they opened fire. They ended up killing four students and one teacher and injuring even more. To this day people still wonder why they did it.

Teen Accused of Faking Cancer for Cash Grab

An eighteen year old from West Texas pretended to have leukemia and received 17,000 dollars in donation from her organization Achieve the Dream Foundation. After a reported suspicion detectives looked into and found that she has never had cancer in her life and she will now be charged with "theft by deception for receiving donations under false pretenses".

I think it is absolutely ridiculous how someone could do that. I just don't understand how someone can lie to that many people for many. I think she deserves everything she got in the end.
I believe this is classified as unusual because this stuff rarely happens.

Missing Minnesota Toddler Found in Cornfield

On Monday at 6pm a toddler in Glendorado township, MN went missing. The boy was two years old and had  been missing for nearly an hour. Thanks to Foley and Princeton fire departments, sheriffs deputies and a K-9 officer the boy was found around 7pm. The boy had no reported injuries. He was found about half a mile from his house in a corn field.

Video Games: Google+ isn't fooling around.

I honestly don't like that games are taking over all the social networking sites. I've played a couple games on facebook and found it extremely addicting. I think the games are simply a waste of time rather than a place to get away. I think people need to be getting away from the computer instead of running to it for relaxation. I believe certain games can get you hooked on them and soon you find yourself spending all your time and money playing them which is extremely unhealthy. I think its fine if you want to spend 30 minutes a day on a game but when it becomes part of your life then you know its time to find something more productive to do. Games can be fun and challenging as long as you don't let them become a huge part of your day or life.

9/11

Yesterday two planes were forced to land early. One plane was headed to New York City and the other was headed to Detroit. On each plane the crew reported that certain passengers either repeatedly went to the  bathroom or were in the bathroom for an extraordinarily long time. Both flights landed and the suspects were questioned and let go.

Opening Activity

Bayza Weeks gave birth to her son Darryl Atkins Jr. when she was only fifteen years old. When the dean of her all catholic private school DeLaSalle found out he was extremely supportive. Her family told her to abort the child and they quit paying tuition when they found out she was keeping it but the school supported her throughout the entire thing. Now 16 years later the boy is all grown up and attends DeLaSalle while his mother is the dean of the school. Thanks to the support system of the school, she went to college, became an employee of the school, and then became dean, all while raising a child.

Lakeville Dad Who Left Son Behind Talks from Jail

This article talks about a 60 year old father who abandoned his son and left the state. The father Steven Cross was about to lose his house due to foreclosure so he panicked and decided to leave without his son. He left his son a note saying to go to the neighbors house. He says he stands by his decision to leave and he is currently in jail.

Kortnee Brooke Anderson

I know Kortnee Anderson extremely well considering she is my best friend but what you may not know about her is that she has had surgery on her foot and she has to have surgery on her other foot this summer. The best day of her life was when she found her grandmothers ring because her grandmother passed away a couple years ago and before she died she gave Kortnee a ring which Kortnee accidentally misplaced. The worst day of Kortnees life was when her brother Kaleb went to college. This was the worst day of her life because she loves Kaleb and living in a house without him just isnt the same. Ever since Kaleb left its been extremely quiet and their dog Miko now follows her everywhere. Kortnee is really good at dance. She has been dancing since she was 5. She does lyrical, jazz, tap, ballet, and hip hop.
